Many things have happened around the world in the past two months but for me, the spectacular Opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing will definitely remain in my mind forever. It was not just a great piece of art, but also a showpiece of Chinese history and confirmation that China is emerging as a world super power. In our Feature pages, you can read a little about the “Green Olympics” in China.
On a sad note, we can’t ignore the fact that the world has also experienced enormous natural disasters which brought so much destruction, pain, suffering and an invitation to everyone, to reflect on our own lives.
Life is beautiful!, especially when you make it be, which, brings me back to the much talked about topics of music and dancing.
I attended the Australian Salsa Classic and witnessed the happiness of everyone involved, the friendships, the personal satisfaction of competitors with their achievements and the smiles on everyones faces. Congratulations to the organisers.
September is the month of Chile as, it is the month we celebrate our National day. Our Cover Story features Marcela Toro, an exceptional Chilean who is making waves in the Melbourne artistic world.
Again from Melbourne, and Chilean too, is our Local Talent profiler German Silva, a great musician who had the opportunity to sing for the WYD in front of the Pope and hundreds of thousands more in Randwick last month.
Glance Chile in our Travel pages and you will not be able to resist the temptation of visiting such a great country full of the most spectacular landscapes you will ever see.
